Infant Massage
Infant massage classes have popped up all over the country. Janice Hart from the International Association of Infant Massage [IAIM] explains how massage helps parents to communicate with their babies.
Solihull Approach
The Solihull Approach uses concepts of containment, reciprocity, and behaviour management as part of an attachment based training programme for professionals working with families, babies, children and young people.
Studies suggest a 66 percent reduction in parental anxiety. Over 100 areas across the UK have trained professionals. Listen to co-ordinator Mary Rheeston explain how it started and what it now provides.
Soho Family Centre
Richard Bowlby is patron of the centre which has been going since 1986. It provides space for registered childminders to work and has been recommended by Bowlby as a model which encourages secondary attachments. The centre provides daycare, pre-school education, a family drop-in, and runs Chinese and Bengali community projects.
